This very fine quality Teapot is moulded with 'shanked' (or spiral) lines which was the latest design in fashion at the later period of the eighteenth century. These moulded lines are very finely potted and create a most decorative effect.
A rich underglaze Cobalt blue border runs around the shoulder of the Teapot's body, This is decorated with gilt leaves and dots.
Evenly spaced around the body of the Teapot are three blue and gilt 'Bluebell' flowers.
The elegant spout of the teapot is faceted moulded up its length and the base of the spout is embellished with gilded diminishing crescents. The base and tip of the spout are also gilded.
The open loop handle of the Teapot has an inward spur towards the base and the back of the handle is decorated with gilt foliage.
The Teapot has a raised rim. Inside there are pierced straining holes at the base of the spout.
The base of the teapot is marked with the under glaze blue open Crescent mark of the famous Worcester factory.
The circular cover of the Teapot is shanked in the same way as the body of the Teapot. It is also decorated with the same rich underglaze Cobalt blue border runs around the shoulder of the Teapot's body, This is decorated with gilt leaves and dots.
The cover also has three same three blue and gilded bluebell flowers spaced evenly around it.
There is a beautifully moulded circular finial which is embellished with gilded decoration. Around the knop on the cover is a circle of blue ovals joined with gilded stylised foliate links.
