The main body of the teapot is beautifully decorated with sprays of formal flowers of underglaze blue flowers, their stems and leaves finely drawn in rich honey gold. The fineness of the gilding is exquisite.
Each side of the teapot is decorated with a main large central bouquet, formally surrounded by four lesser bouquets. The top and bottom rims of the globular body are decorated around them with a gilt dentil band.
The teapot has an elegant domed cover surmounted with a delicate moulded flower finial with applied stem and two leaves attaching it to the cover.

Condition:
The condition of the stunning Worcester teapot is excellent, there are no chips, cracks or restoration. The decoration is in very good order and generally shows extremely little sign of any wear to the gilding. The only very minor imperfections are listed below:
The leaves of the flower finial have some very fine firing cracks, as can be seen in the above pictures. These are cracks that occurred during the firing process at the time of manufacture and are not subsequent damage.
The delicate flower finial does have a few nibbles to the tips of the leaves, as is the usual case. Otherwise it is in great shape.
The only really noticeable wear to the gilding on the teapot and cover is to the applied gild decoration to the back edge of the handle, as can be seen in the picture above.
Apart from the very minor imperfections noted, this is a most stunning early Worcester teapot dating from c1785 that would make a very fine addition to any collector of Worcester porcelain or Eighteenth Century tea wares.
