A very attractive Barr Worcester jug with a shanked (spiral fluted moulded) body, c1795. The jug is very elegantly decorated with fine rich honey coloured gilding.

This  fine gilt decoration is in the form of a pretty foliate garland and stars around the body. This is then bounded by a thick gilded line above and below it.

Around the shoulder of the jug is a further fine gilded garland of implied foliage.

This implied foliate decoration is also applied to the top of the pouring lip. The rim of the jug is gilded.

The back edge of the handle is richly gilded with foliage and dots. The foot rim also has a gilded line round it.

There is no manufacturer's mark, but is a beautiful Worcester jug from the 'Flight & Barr' period c1795

Condition:

This elegant Worcester jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. The gilded decoration is also in really great condition and showing no sign of wear which is quite amazing for the age of the jug. A fantastic item of Worcester for any collector.
