The main bouquet of flowers is beautifully painted with bright enamel colours in pink, orange, and green.
The smaller sprigs around the sides of the canister is more subdued, but of the same quality of painting, as are the single floral sprigs that adorn the tea canister's body. These flower sprigs are in orange, pink and purple with green foliage. Tiny green foliate sprigs are also dotted around the canisters body
There is a raised neck collar to the canister. Originally, this would have had a lid, which, as with many tea canister of this period, is now missing. The collar is embellished with a red line around the base of the collar and a further line of joined semi-circles.
The tea canister is raised up on a circular foot.
There are no manufacturer's marks on this tea canister, but I believe it to be Worcester rather than Caughley, c1775.
There are no manufacturer's marks on this tea canister, but I believe to be from the famous Worcester factory and dates from c1775.
This rare and beautiful tea canister is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. It really is a very fine Worcester tea canister for any collector of Worcester or early English porcelain tea wares.
