The body of this trio is of a circular shape with vertical
moulded fluting.
The decoration of the body of the trio is of an applied gold
Etruscan border, a design quite synonymous with the English Regency period of
the early nineteenth century. This pattern is also sometimes referred too as the
'Greek Key' pattern. It is listed in the patterns of the Chamberlain Worcester
factory as 'Hambleton, gold Etruscan border'. This design is quite striking in
appearance especially with the very rich honey coloured gilding.
The teacup is a shape known as the 'Bute' shape and has a fluted
body and a loop shaped handle.
The gold Etruscan border is applied around the top portion of
the cup in the rich honey colourer gold. There is a gilded rim and a gilded line
round the base of the cup.

The elegant loop handle is typical of this early nineteenth
century period and is embellished with golden edges and a central gilded line
round the back of the handle.
The underside of the cup is marked in gold with the Chamberlain
pattern number 354.
The coffee can is a straight sided shape and has a fluted body
and a loop shaped handle like the tea cup.

The gold Etruscan border is applied around the top portion of
the can in the rich honey colourer gold. There is a gilded rim and a gilded line
round the base of the can.

The elegant loop handle is typical of this early nineteenth
century period and is embellished with golden edges and a central gilded line
round the back of the handle.
The underside of the can is marked in puce with the Chamberlain

Etruscan border decoration. The centre portion of the saucer has a gilded
circle.

This trio comes from a teaset that has some pieces marked with the pattern
number 354. Also, the teapot cover has the 'Chamberlain Worcester' mark inside
the lid. It was usual that only the teapot lid was marked with the 'Chamberlain
Worcester' mark. This delightful trio, decorated with the 'gold Etruscan
pattern' dates from c1805.
The teapot and the 'Chamberlain Worcester Warranted' mark in the cover is

This handsome trio is in good condition with no chips, repairs or
restoration. The only minor imperfection is some wear to the gilding and a tiny
firing crack on the base of the handle, which is insignificant. It is a
lovely example from the famous Chamberlain Worcester factory with this beautiful
Regency 'gold Etruscan border' design.
