Liverpool? Creamware domed Coffee Pot lid, floral decoration, c1800

(p103-28)

A charming Coffee pot lid. This lid is of a circular domed shape that is decorated in a sort of typical New Hall style with s pink and purple border and pink red and green flower sprigs. I believe it is probably Liverpool in manufacture as it has a very distinctive blue tinge to the glaze, this easily seen at the base of the finial.

The pink border has an applied darker pink diaper design and there are four panels breaking up the border with purple lines and pink flower heads. There are tiny flowers in red with green foliage dotted around the lid.

The finial is of a round and pointed shape and has a red lined flower on the top.

This is a Liverpool? Creamware domed Coffee Pot lid, floral decoration, c1800.
