An elegantly decorated Worcester slops bowl, 'shanked' moulded design, c1790. The slops bowl is elegantly decorated with an underglaze blue and gilt decoration including pretty flower sprigs. There are three main flower sprigs around the body of the bowl.

There is also a decorative band of decoration around the outer rim of the slops bowl, this made up of underglaze cobalt blue diamonds linked with gilt foliate srpays. this same border design is repeated around the inner rim of the slops bowl.

The slops bowl has a scalloped and gilded rim and a gold line around the raised circular foot. In the base of the bowl, there is a blue and gilt sunburst decoration.

This is a nice example piece of Worcester porcelain. It is a slops bowl from a tea service and dates from c1790.

Marks:

There are no manufacturer's marks, but this is a Worcester slops bowl dating from c1790

Condition:

This charming Worcester slops bowl does have a restored chip to its rim, which is clearly visible (shown in the 3 pictures below). The restoration is clear on a small area near to the rim and can also be just seen on the top gilded rim (right hand picture). Apart from this restored chip, there are no cracks other repairs or restoration. It will still make a fine example piece for the collector of Worcester or early English porcealian.
